Highworth held off competition from Watford and Godalming to clinch the Bisham championship division after the last batch of games.

Two goalless draws against Watford and Godalming put us in a great position and once they drew with each other the title was secured as our previous 7pt lead meant we couldnt be caught.

With the title decided, we then had our first defeat in 2 seasons losing 3-0 to Milton Keynes in a game best forgotten.

The final game saw us up against Wycombe and we had numerous chances but the game was decided with a Steve York strike, earning us a 1-0 win and clinching the title by a 4pt margin.

Squad today: Steve York, Martin Sharkey, Gary Vitler, Kevin Turner, Dave Mitchell, Steve King & Colin Smith.

Round 3 of our over 50s Bisham league fixtures saw another set of solid results with 4 wins and a draw.

First up were Milton Keynes who were beaten 2-0 courtesy of goals by Mark Hooper and Kev Turner. A 0-0 draw with Godalming followed before we faced Watford who are one of the strongest sides in the division. Again an excellent display saw us triumph 1-0, Steve York the scorer with a rasping shot into the top corner.

With all teams getting a walk over win against no shows South Reading our final game was against Wycombe A. Another tight game followed but Kev Turners neat finish was enough to give us another 1-0 victory and 13pts from 15 on the day.

Our second session of games in the Bisham championship saw a hefty return of points as we won 4 of our games and drew the other, leaving ourselves top of the division at the end of the day.

Things started well with a 2-0 win over previous division leaders Godalmin, courtesy of 2 Steve King goals.

This was followed up by 4-0 mauling of Milton Keynes, a good spread of goals coming from Kev Turner (2), Russ Lillington and Steve York.

Russ and Steve York also added to their tallies in the next 2-0 victory over Wycombe.

Game number four and another 2-0 win, Kevin and Steve King on the scoresheet again against South Reading, before we played our final game against an impressive Watford side and probably should have taken all 3 points but had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

A great effort from the whole squad: Martin Sharkey, Dave Mitchell, Andy Sears, Gary Vitler, Russ Lillington, Steve York, Steve King & Kev Turner.
